Trying to share an Internet connection while away from your home or office can be a logistical nightmare.

The portable 3G modem/router from Edimax (it bears the sexy name ED-3G- 6210n) makes it really simple, its rechargeable battery obviating the need for power cables and sockets. All you need do is plug your modem into a USB port, then connect the router via Wi-Fi to your laptop (or your makeshift network).

An Ethernet WAN port allows you to plug in a cable modem, and the device comes equipped with 802.11nLite, providing wireless transmission speeds of up to 150 Mbps. Its Li-Ion battery allows you to trawl the Net for up to 90 minutes. A one-click WPS button allows you to create a secure wireless network in a flash.
