BMW presented its Concept Active Tourer Outdoor at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013, the company’s innovation in the premium compact segment.

Compact exterior dimensions, impressive interior space and clever solutions aimed at enhancing sports and leisure-related functionality define the character of the BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor.

And let’s not forget the BMW eDrive concept’s groundbreaking plug-in hybrid drive technology.

The system comprises a 1,5-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo engine and a synchronous electric motor, generating a combined output of 140‑kW and accelerating the BMW Concept Active Tourer from zero to 100 km/h in less than eight seconds. The vehicle has an average fuel consumption of less than 2,5 litres per 100 kilometres and a CO2 emissions level of under 60 grams per kilometre. The lithium-ion battery of this plug-in hybrid automobile can be charged at a conventional mains socket and on a full charge can power the car for about 30 kilometres on electric power alone.
