If you pull up at the drag strip next to one of these, be afraid. Your warmed-up Honda Civic V-Tec with the crudely 3D-printed fake “R” badging will still be thinking about departing when this electric-powered machine has already despatched the 0-100 km/h sprint.

Students of the University of Stuttgart recently bettered the 0-100 km/h electric acceleration record by 0,006 seconds, using this electric Formula SAE-style car fitted with four motors and a 6,62 kWh battery pack.

According to the motoring website Jalopnik, the car’s power-to-weight ratio is worse than that of a Koenigsegg One:1’s, but significantly better than the power-to-weight ratio of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
