Come fly with me
The first Fiat-Chrysler twin project is described as an all-new world-class vehicle with high levels of refinement and craftsmanship that breaks the mould in China’s compact sedan segment. Its design is by the Fiat Group’s Style Centre, so although aimed at making a Chinese breakthrough it may have prospects in other parts of the world (its Italian name means journey; its Chinese name means fly).
The new four-door, five-seater sedan is based on the CUSW (Compact US Wide) architecture, said to be the most advanced within the Fiat Group, and it is also the basis of the new Dodge Dart shown at Detroit in January. That architecture derives from the Compact elements originally developed for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
The Fiat Viaggio will be the only car in its segment to offer sophisticated T-Jet Turbo engines (1.4L T-Jet 120 HP and 150 HP) the T-Jet Turbo engine with either a 6-speed dual dry clutch or a 5-speed manual transmission.
