Fiat’s funky new Qubo is targeting the likes of Toyota’s Avanza, Nissan Livina and the Kia Soul in the compact family van market.
Launched in Cape Town today, the Qubo is available with either a 1,4 petrol (R177 990) or 1,3 diesel (R199 990). “They are pretty much fully specced,” says Chrysler/Fiat’s communications chief Richard Sloman.
The Qubo offers massive stowage space thanks to its high roof, sliding rear doors and clever internal configuration options, which include removable rear seats. Economy is also touted as a strong point, with the diesel said to be capable of as little as 4,6 litres/100 km.
