Set to be unveiled at the Australian Open, professional tennis’ first grand slam event of the year, is the X-Men-inspired Kia Sportage – a celebration of the Korean brand’s collaboration with entertainment giant Twentieth Century Fox and sponsorship of the tournament.

Dubbed the X-Car, this particular example of the Sportage takes its appearance from the franchise’s lovable rogue Mystique, with a unique tone-on-tone matte and gloss blue finish to mimic the character’s shape-shifting abilities, as well as a red roof and yellow headlamps that represent the femme fatale’s hair and eyes.

The X-Car will be on display to the public at Melbourne Park for the duration of the tournament, before making appearances at motorshows and events before the film’s debut in May. The new Sportage will make its South African debut later this year as well.
