Baddies hoping to outrun the Italian police will find escape a lot harder in future. Lamborghini has donated to local police a special version of its newest super sports car, the Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia.
Not that the baddies found evading the law particularly easy in the past. The car that the Huracán replaced is another Lamborghini, the Gallardo. The older car has been used by Italian police 2004.
The Huracán LP 610-4 succeeds the highly successful Gallardo as the Lamborghini flagship in civilian ranks as well. The new car will do 325 km/h; its 5,2-litre V10 produces 455 kW.
A total of 14 022 Gallardos were produced in a 10-year production run. This makes it the most successful Lamborghini ever. In the Lamborghini tradition, the replacement bears a name involved with bullfighting. Huracán was a fighting bull of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed. He fought in August 1879 in Alicante. According to Lamborghini, this bull was invincible thanks to his unyielding character.
