How do you improve on something that diehard fans insist is well-nigh perfect? Well, you certainly don’t mess with the basic recipe; so for 2011 the Wrangler range gets an all-new interior and premium, body-colour, removable hard top. There’s a redesigned instrument panel and new storage areas (including lockable console) with improved ergonomics and upgraded materials. Windows are bigger, too.
Toughness shouldn’t mean you have to sacrifice convenience, so the Wrangler also gets new steering-wheel controls for functions such as radio and cruise control. Other practical upgrades include additional 12 V accessory outlets. Improved acoustical treatment is said to have significantly cut down on interior noise.
