Hip new styling and performance-oriented dynamics highlight BMW’s 2012 Mountainbike Enduro.
A sporty drive is part of the BMW DNA, so it’s no surprise that the smile factor forms a big part of the latest bicycle designs from the performance freaks at Munich.
For 2012, BMW’s off-road model, the Mountainbike Enduro, gets a new improved frame that, typically, doesn’t use any mass-produced components: it’s developed in-house. The all-aluminium full-suspension frame rides on Fox shocks and Shimano Deore shifters.
According to BMW, independent testing facilities have shown that the new model combines great handling, comfort and safety thanks to its customisable settings. A Crank Brothers wheelset adds stiffness and boosts downhill characteristics. As to styling, this one should look right at home on the trail: green accents on the spokes create a striking appearance on the move, particularly set against the metallic black of the rest of the bike.
Similarly funky styling upgrades have been applied to other models. The Cruise Bike’s eye-catching wheelset combines radial and crossed spoke patterns plus a colour strip echoed on the handlebars and saddle. On a more practical note, 27 speeds and a fully adjustable stem give riders complete flexibility on tour. Rounding off the BMW bike line-up are the excursion-friendly 2012 BMW Touring Bike; the versatile, sporty 2012 BMW Mountainbike Enduro; the fast-moving BMW M Carbon Racer; and the Kidsbike for the littlest riders.
