Launched at the Istanbul show, Peugeot’s 301 is directed at a wide range of new customers in developing markets such as Turkey, Central and Eastern Europe, the Maghreb countries, Middle East, Russia, Ukraine, West Africa and Latin America.
This robust compact is strong on practicality, and is said to have been developed to suit the sometimes severe climate and road conditions found in the countries in which it will be sold.
It has what’s described as record rear-seat space in its category and a boot volume of 640 dm3. Its latest-generation engines include Peugeot’s new 3-cylinder 1,2 litre petrol engine, recently launched here in the 208.
The 301 will also be produced and commercialised in China at the end of 2013.
