A limited edition Renault Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R has scorched around Germany’s legendary Nürburgring in a new record time, for a front-wheel drive production model, of 7:54:36.
The car set the record on the ‘Ring’s 20,832 km Nordschleife circuit on May 14.
The lightweight R.S. 275 Trophy-R is about as focused as you can get in a road-legal car. Aimed at track enthusiasts, it’s described as a more radical version of the recently launched Renault Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy. Engine is the 275’s upgraded Renault Sport 2.0T engine of 275 horsepower (205 kW). The The Trophy-R sheds nearly 100 kg, though. Cup chassis is also standard, with Öhlins Road&Track adjustable dampers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
Just 250 copies of this two-seater will be built.
