Beach buggies, Mini Mokes and your lawn are the spiritual ancestors to Frank M Rinderknecht’s BamBoo concept, which will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The BamBoo name has literal and figurative connotations. In common with certain green-minded manufacturers, some interior components are made of bamboo fibres. But the four-seater BamBoo takes things further: its open-top design recalls the beach-bum surfer-dude back-to-roots 1970s era.

Still, in keeping with the design that nostalgia ain’t what it used to be (and obviously because the car is undeniably located in the 2000s), the BamBoo runs on electric power. And that goes for the onboard foldable two-wheeler as well.
