Ever since its release in 1967, the VW beetle has always been an iconic car. The sales figures support this as over 23 million units have been sold since it’s inception. With so many of them laying around it was only a matter of time before some decided to repurpose the timeless design to create something completely unique.

Brent Walter, a man who describes himself as “a maker and builder of a variety of things” stepped up to the plate and dedicated his efforts towards creating something no one has ever seen, a VW mini bike, or the ‘VolksPod’ as its more commonly known. As the name suggests, this mini-bike was made using parts from an original VW beetle, the front fender and headlight to be more specific.

To create the seemingly never ending curve of the fender/body of the Volkspod, Walter fused the four fenders from each corner of the original car to form this unique shape. He then mounted a modest 79cc engine to the inside of the fender to give his creation some power.

To finish off the design, Walter painted the bikes in the classic birch green and castle blue, before adding the iconic beetle head and tail lights, along with a custom handle bar and leather seat.
