Bollards are those short, robust posts that youngsters (and some adults) try to leapfrog over, but their main purpose is to manage traffic by blocking pathways deemed unsuitable for motor vehicles.
Here is a video of a truck hitting a bollard head-on to serve as a reminder that it’s best to avoid them when close, even though it might seem like common sense.
